Elizabeth turns four tomorrow! Happy birthday, sweet girl!
And there are pictures of the party in the post below. :-)

The princess party!
The much anticipated princess party has come to a conclusion. It was quite a fun time! When all the little princesses arrived, we decorated big wooded letters for their names and also, picture frames. After that, it was time for dancing. We took a break from the dancing to eat cupcakes and open presents, then it was back to the dance floor for these princesses!
It was a very special day!
Scrapbook night confessions
Scrapbook night is a great time for girl talk. I get to hang out with my best friends, accomplish great works of art in my scrapbook, and talk. Last night was scrapbook night, and I have a confession to make. I have my pastor's license plate number memorized.
Scrapbooking lasts from 7-midnight. It can get kinda creepy when it's just a bunch of girls sitting up there. Every little noise makes us jump. One of the "safety measures" we take is to walk each other to the car. Last night, it was just three of us. Lindsey was ready to call it a night, and I walked her out. I was going to just walk her close to her car, till I notices a white SUV pull into the parking lot. "No biggie," I told myself. An myself believed me. Until the SUV slowed down and the driver waved. At that point, I tell Lindsey "V64123, remember that, it's the license plate number." Lindsey urges me to just get in her car, which I started doing, until I noticed that the driver had stopped, was getting out, and heading to the admin building where Christi was waiting for me to let me back it. I tell Lindsey, "I'm going to see if Christi needs help!" and start running towards the admin building. At this point, I realize that Christi has let the man in, so I assume we are in the clear. Sure enough, it was just Wade, our pastor. Christi and I were having a good laugh, when my cell rings. I see it's Lindsey calling. I assure her that all is well, and she said that she just wanted to make sure she didn't need to be "the get away car."
The whole event gave Christi and I the adrenaline rush to finish some work before heading home. If only our pastor was a little guy, the whole thing would have been a lot less scary! And for Christi's side of the story, go here.

Almost party day
Tomorrow is the big princess party. That means today, Elizabeth and I are making cupcakes. Care to guess what kind of cupcakes we will be having?

Father's Day
Even though Father's day is still a few days away, I wanted to post my Father's Day greeting early. This year, Father's Day is also Elizabeth's birthday. And there is such a thing as too many montages (so I've been told).
Curtis, thank you for being an amazing father to our children. Thank you for being the calm in the chaos. Thank you for loving our kids enough to discipline them. Thank you for not being worried about carrying a "girlie" diaper bag. Thank you for teaching our daughter what a godly husband looks like. Thank you for teaching our sons how to be godly men. Thank you for also teaching our sons how to hold the door for their Mommy. Thank you for teaching me about Aggie football. Thank you for putting God first in your life. Thank you for being a godly leader in our home. Thank you for the way you lead me and the children in love. I love you so much, and am so thankful for the man, the husband, and most of all today, the father that you are!
Daddy, I love you! Thank you for showing me a godly example of a husband. Thank you for holding the key to my heart for 20 years. Thank you for taking me on dates, even to the opera! Thank you for helping to make birthdays and holidays so special growing up. Thank you for loving my momma so well that I was always secure in our home and your love. Thank you for raising me to love the Lord. Thank you for all the prayers that you have said for me, Curtis, and my children. Thank you for sharing mom with us! Thank you for being an amazing Grand-Daddy to my children.
Charles, thank you for Curtis! Thank you for raising a godly son, who loves me so well. Thank you for the support you give us. Thank you for loving my children so much. Thank you for the prayers I know you pray for us. Thank you for teaching my children about cows and tractors. Thank you for always opening your home to us.
And last, but not least, my Papas! I love you both so much! Thank you for showing me what a successful marriage looks like after over 50 years! Thank you for my parents. Thank you for all the love that you have shown me through my entire life.
Happy Father's Day to all these amazing men!

Awesome pictures from Ms. Christi
And here's Benjamin at the pool last Friday. I'm not sure if he enjoyed playing in the water, or drinking the water.
Thanks for the pictures Christi!

This evening, in a failing attempt to tire the kids so we could have a quiet date night, we went to the local Splash Pad. I took Elizabeth a couple summers ago, but the boys had never been, and Elizabeth didn't remember going. Here are some of the pictures from the evening.
Benjamin loved it! He played, chased his brother and sister around, and just had a good time.

I didn't get an super wonderful pictures of Micah because he was on the go the entire time we were there! Most of the time, he was on the go where we didn't want him to go, like the private party where there was an inflatable slide like we had at Benjamin's party. Not a fun evening for or with Micah.

This picture reminds me of this picture from two years ago. Elizabeth was quite content to stand under the water, letting it splash over her. She would squeal and wait for more!
Of course leaving was very traumatic for the kids. Isn't it always? I was armed with snacks and juice boxes, which helped a bit. We came home and just had one of those evening were nothing gets done. Our date night didn't go quite as planned. The original plan was that I would make oven roasted ribs and scalloped potatoes. Curtis is currently on his way to Taco Bell.
All in all, a good day! And thankfully, I have good pictures and will probably only remember the good from them.
Planning a pink princess party.
Next Sunday, the 15th, Elizabeth will be turning four years old! To all of you who sat in the waiting room, waiting to hear if we were having a boy or a girl, and to all our family who was on the road, CAN YOU BELIEVE SHE'S TURNING FOUR?!?
This year for her birthday, Elizabeth asked for a princess party. This princess party has quickly turned into her "pink princess party"! And I'm loving it! I'm loving the planning, the shopping, every little detail has been so much fun. It's been really fun because this year we're just having four of her girl friends over, so it's going to be small and a little calmer than the other parties we've had this year. It's also been fun to do the planning and shopping with her. I can't wait to share pictures! Until then, here is a copy the invitations that I just finished. Elizabeth loves to hear me read them to her, and giggles every time she hears "Princess Elizabeth".
And in case you can't tell, the writing is in purple. I picked purple because it matched the princess fairy's dress. Plus, there is such a thing as too much pink (so I've heard).

Are you a slacker mom?
I took a quiz to find out the answer to that little question. Here's my answer:
You are a Zen Mom
How do you do it? Even when explosions are all around, you are able to take a deep cleansing breath and chant your mantra "this too shall pass." You are a calming influence on your kids in a hectic world.
Oh, if only they really knew how many times a day I say, "this too shall pass", usually said about poopy diapers.

A melt your heart Micah-ism
As I was checking my e-mail, I heard Micah frantically call, "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!" I told him where I was, and he continued to call me. He rushed into my bedroom, and into my arms exclaiming, "I missed you Mommy!" After a huge hug and lots of snuggles, he asked, "Where's baby Benjamin?!" Ever since he's gotten home from Kansas, he likes knowing where everyone is. Daddy leaving to go to work has become a bit of a productions, with lots of waving from the front door and kisses.
Moments like these make all the bad ones seem so very minor!

Super Dad! (Micah-isms)
Yesterday, I took the kids to the gym so that we could all kill some time and Mommy could burn some calories. There is a great little "day care" for the kids, which they love. One of the fun things is the huge play place (like you see at McD's). As soon as we walked in, Micah took of his shoes and went running for the slide! After my work out, I picked the kids up, and had Micah put his shoes on. As we were leaving, I noticed his shoes were on the wrong feet. I mentioned this to Micah, and being the highly obedient child he is (or can be) he sat down on the sidewalk and switched his shoes. Not quite what I had in mind, but I appreciated the obedience.
After the gym, we ran to HEB. As all you HEB going mommies know, your child will often get a balloon (or in this story, bubba-oon) upon entering the store. Despite the fact that it's more challenging to drive the huge car shaped grocery cart while dodging two balloons, I let the kids each have one. Unfortunately, when we left the store, Ben's balloon blew away. While I was buckling the kids in, Micah asked where Baby Ben's bubba-oon was. I told him that it blew away. Always quick with a solution, Micah said, "If Daddy were here, he jump in the sky and get Baby Ben's bubba-oon! Yay Daddy!"
Didn't you know Curtis could jump in the air and rescue all bubba-oons that have blown away, with his maroon cape billowing in the wind behind him? No gust of breeze is too strong for him. He truly is Super Dad in the eyes of his son!

Generations of fun
My kids are home! My Mom and Grandma brought the kiddos home on Sunday night.
Since they were already here in town, the were able to stay for a couple extra days. Yesterday we worked... hard! It was very nice to get a few little tasks done while I had extra sets of hands. Then today, we went to the Children's Museum and lunch. Fun!! Here are some pictures from our outing to the museum.

Elizabeth-ism
This happened about a week ago, while driving in the van. All five of us were in our assigned spots, and Aunt Shannon had squeezed into the back seat, between the cubby hold and Elizabeth monstrous car seat. As frequently happens, we smelled that lovely aroma of skunk. Elizabeth and Micah are always quick to tell me that Benjamin is poopy at this point, so I beat them to the punch, and asked if they smelled the skunk. Elizabeth assured us that she did smell the skunk, and proceeded to tell Aunt Shannon what they should do if a skunk should "toot" on them. Bewildered, I asked her how she knew to use tomato juice to get rid of the skunk smell. "I saw it on Curious George. I really hope a skunk never toots on me."
For Elizabeth and Micah
Elizabeth and Micah,
Your brother misses you so much! I think that he will be very happy to see you tomorrow, when you get home!
Benjamin enjoyed looking at the pictures of you guys at Grandma and Grand-Daddy's house, and wanted me to post some pictures of him for you. Here's a picture of what Benjamin was doing today... wearing Elizabeth's old Elmo slippers! He thought he was a very big boy. Before he wore the Elmo slippers, he tried to wear Micah's train slippers. He only had on one, and it was too big!
And Elizabeth, look at how big the lion has gotten! I had to move him out of the cup and into this bowl. And now, the lion has almost gotten too big for the bowl. Daddy and I heard that if you leave the lion out of the water, he will get small again. Isn't that funny!?!
Mommy and Daddy are so glad that you guys have had such a fun time in Kansas! We have really enjoyed seeing the pictures that Grandma and Grand-Daddy sent, talking to you on the phone, and on the computer, but we are really excited to see you tomorrow!
We love you both bunches and bunches!

from 3 to 1
Did you know that Elizabeth and Micah are currently spending some time with their grandparents and aunt in Kansas? The whole even happened rather quickly. My parents and sister were in town for Benjamin's party. Mom called a few days before they were supposed to arrive, and asked if the kids could come home with them for a few days. Benjamin missed out on this trip since he had a helmet appointment in Austin yesterday, and the tubes are still fairly new and could cause problems.
So on Tuesday morning, we loaded them up, and off they went to Kansas! They call through out the day, and Curtis and I have been able to talk to them via web cam. We miss them tons, but with how busy things here have been, it's been nice. We also know that they are having the time of their lives with Grandma and Aunt Shannon! And if plans go well, tonight they will be sleeping outside in a tent with Grand-Daddy!
Life with one child, rather than three, has been interesting. I think I finally got words to how I was feeling the other night when talking with Curtis. At the end of the day, I have accomplished more, yet don't feel as accomplished.
I'm looking forward to having the Elizabeth and Micah back on Sunday! Benjamin has had a hard time adjusting to life as an only child. The first day, he just walked around the house waving, and crying. Day two brought boredom for Benjamin. He was only happy if I was holding him or playing with him. Thankfully, we had my young mom's Bible study and community group!
This weekend we're looking forward to painting Micah and Elizabeth's room. Currently, it is pink. Since that room will end up being the boy's room, once Benjamin is out of his crib, we will be painting it the even popular and manly color of blue.
The craziest part of this week is that for the first time in a long time, things aren't crazy!

pictures (finally!)
I was bummed that I didn't have pictures of everyone with Benjamin. :-( (Christi, please tell me you got one of our boys!) But even if I don't have your picture, know that we were thankful that you were there, and appreciate you sharing Benjamin's first year with us.
And to give credit where credit is due, Mr. Charles and Ms. Laura took most all the pictures outside (and some of the ones inside too!). Thanks guys! You and your spiffy new camera might be a permanent fixture at Krajca parties!

Party!
I know, still no pictures from Benjamin's party. I promise I'm working on it. I seriously have hundreds of pictures to go through, up load, and sort. But it will absolutely be worth it.
Until I get the pictures into the montage, I thought I would tell about the party, hopefully making the montage even more enjoyable.
My parents and sister, Shannon, came into town on Friday evening. Thank goodness for their help! Thanks also to the Arnold who let us borrow their car, watched my kids while I did shopping, and let us borrow the awesome water slide.
Our goal for the first birthday party is to celebrate God goodness and grace to our family. This was even more so our desire with all that we have been through with Benjamin. God has been so good to us, and we wanted to celebrate! We had over forty people at our house to join in our celebrations!
Considering the zoo of a first year that Ben has had, we decided to go with a Zoo theme for the party. Benjamin wore the most adorable outfit! We had monkeys hanging from the mantle, and animals of the table. Add all the people, and it felt like a zoo at our house!
After lunch, presents and cupcakes, the real fun started. We had a slip 'n slide, a kiddie pool, a water table, and best of all a HUGE water slide! Our yard was transformed into a mini water park! The kids had a blast, and I think all the adults had fun sitting in the shade watching the excitement.
We had a great day! Wonderful, loving people surrounded us to help us mark Benjamin's first birthday. I couldn't have asked for a more fun or memorable day!
