Flower Girl

Since Elizabeth's so adorable (and because of a lack of options), she was the flower girl in Megan's wedding. She had been looking forward to the whole flower girl things, especially the new dress with pearls.

At the rehearsal, she never made it down the aisle at the right time. At one point, she was hiding behind the doors into the sanctuary, saying, "I can't do this!" All this made us a little nervous about the actual event.

The wedding day dawns, and Elizabeth is ready! As we were all getting ready in the bridal room, she was walking around throwing her flowers or "practicing" as she called it.

I made my way down the aisle, followed by our cousin who pulled the aisle runner out. The ring bearer came down, and we all held our breath waiting for Elizabeth. I could tell by the look on her face that there was no way she was coming down! The wedding coordinator helped her down. She took a couple tentative steps, with her basket over her face. Don't know why, but suddenly she freezes. Curtis was ready, and headed up the aisle to help her get down. She walked hand in hand with Daddy, until the end of the aisle, when she remembered her flowers. When she realized she hadn't thrown any flowers, she basically freaked out. She hit the ground, but not before throwing her entire basket of flowers up in the air. That's the sight Meg and Daddy see as they come down the aisle. What they couldn't see was the look on my Mom's face. It was hilarious! Most of that was due to the fact that Elizabeth almost took Mom's head off with the basket! Funny! It was kinda sad because she kept telling Curtis, "I didn't do a good job!" It was pretty sad, but about the time the wedding was over, I think she was okay.

Thankfully, she behaved pretty well for pictures, and that's where most of the memories will be. Plus, Megan was very laid back about the whole thing, and didn't care about the flower girl, as long as she was still married.

She couldn't look cuter.

I have rarely been to a wedding where the small children in the party were completely cooperative. It's just part of the bargain.

Awwwwww.....when I was just about Elizabeth's age, I was the flower girl in my aunt's wedding (actually in a couple of weddings as I got older, too). I STILL remember it, so I know she will have memories of it later, too. Especially as her family members rib her for her "show." Only a genius Krajca could pull it off!! Love those kids, Kierstyn...just love 'em!

We had two flower girls and two ring bearers (our neices and nephews) so that if one set freaked out, we'd have a spare. LOL-- Seriously though, it's not easy being a kid and withstanding the pressures of the adult wedding world. =)
