Potty Train

This evening, Micah had a little accident, which is not that big of a deal for me. That's just life at this stage of the game. But for Elizabeth, it was a major ordeal! It boiled down to her being worried that the accident was because Micah was sick. I assured her that Micah was fine, and that it was, "just part of potty training." To which Micah quickly responded, "Yeah, I'm a potty train!"

(Found this while searching for a funny image to go with Potty Train. Chugga, chugga, pooo-pooooooooo! And no, we don't want this book for Christmas!)

Praying

What a gift prayer is! To think that we can come into the presence of our Heavenly Father, and even when I don't have words, even when I have stumbled and sinned, yet again, He welcomes me into His presence through prayer. Praise God for this rich blessing and gift!
So often the task of parenting overwhelms me. I look at the enormity of the task, and feel completely incapable, which of course is what I am. But that's not where God leaves me. He leads me into prayer, a time to commune with my Savior, and to pray for my children. I find myself in prayer so often through out the day now that I'm a mom. After reading a blog, I was convicted to be more deliberate in my prayers, especially the prayers that I pray for my children. The author of the blog, a mom, prays seven prayers over her daughters through the day. 7 prayers a day, 7 days a week. 7X7. Click on the button above to read the original post.
When you see the above button on my side bar, let it serve as a reminder to all of us to be in prayer for our children. Our task is great, but our Savior is even greater!

Can you find the prettiest little girl?

Here's Elizabeth's class picture from tap. I thought it turned out pretty cute! I told her, "Elizabeth, I think you are the prettiest little girl in your class!" She informed me that it was just because another little girl didn't come any more. :-)

Lost at Wal Mart

On Monday, I went to Wal Mart. While we were there, we lost the following items. If you happen to be at Wal Mart, and see these items, please return them to their rightful owners.
Benjamin's blue pacy.

One of Benjamin's shoes. Yeah, just one!

My little, pink, notebook.

I also lost my mind, and my sanity. Don't' have a picture of those things, they tend to like to run and hide most of the time, so it's hard to capture them.

Also, while we were at Wal Mart, we broke a shopping cart. Maybe that's about when I lost my mind and sanity!

Welcome Jackson Lee!

I had the huge privilege of getting to meet the newest member of our church family today, Thomas Jackson. Jackson was born this morning. Here are a few shots of the handsome little guy, and just a few of the people who already love him so much. Me, Ashlee (looking amazing and beautiful for just having given birth 13 hours earlier!) Jackson and Jamison.
The proud papa, Jackson and Norval.

Congratulations Matt, Ashlee, and Gracie Mae!!! Thank you for already sharing your little guys with us. We love you all so much!

What you do the day after Halloween?

Go to the grocery store to buy cheap Halloween cupcakes and candy and get free Halloween balloons!

Well, at least that's what we did. :-)

Our super gross spider cupcakes that the kids thought were soooo cooool! Apparently, Curtis thought they were cool too (he was actually just being sweet and playing along :-)). Please note that despite the fact that the children aren't wearing clothes, Curtis is wearing his clothes. That says something about his cupcake eating ability!

Elizabeth: "I have a spider in my mouth" face
Micah: "Whatever Mom!" face
Benjamin: "Even though I have a spider crawling out of my nose, I still have beautiful blue eyes!" face.
After this picture was taken, Benjamin went on to really enjoy his cupcake.

In other news, when I was making Curtis his coffee this morning, I found a ROACH in the coffee! A roach!! Did you catch that Christi? A ROACH!!!!! I totally freaked out, threw the roach, which I was holding (I didn't realize it was a roach when I picked it up) and went screaming into the bedroom. Elizabeth came back to freak out with me, though she wasn't sure why at first. And then I had to tell her multiple times that the roach was dead. No, his legs weren't twitching, he was really, really, dead. Micah tried to reassure her that it was dead, "because coffee is so hot it could kill!"

Needless to say, I brought Curtis some coffee from Chick-fil-a. BTW, they have really great coffee! Beats the Roach Roast ANY day!

Our evening... Happy Reformation Day!

Our evening started when we took cupcakes to Curtis' office. The kids had so much fun and were super cute passing out cupcakes.

Micah, the brave knight, was kind enough to sample the icing before we handed the treats out. Way to take one for the team, Sir Micah!

Our little princess and her favorite knight!
Me and my sweet princess.
The wild, candy eating dragon! Even though he didn't roar while we were at Curtis' office, he had lots of fun roaring at the Reformation Day Party. He even blew "fire" at Andrew!
Daddy holding the little dragon before he went on another candy binge! On a non cady related side note, Benjamin won the costume contest! Good call judges!!!
Benjamin was quick to find out where all the candy was.

And here he is pointing to his lollipop. He even dug through the trash and picked up lollipops off the floor. Soooo gross!

The brave and mighty knight, who spent most of his evening running around, and eating chips.

The mighty knight takes a moment to pose for a picture with one of his adoring fans.

Our little princess had a fun evening "fishing" for jewels (jewelry), spending time with her friend, the Little Mermaid (Alexis) and jumping in the jump house.

We had a great evening! Despite good naps and lots of candy, the kids all went down fairly easily. There was a little incident with the princess and some hot pink nail polish, but all's well that ends well!

A Junk Food Day!

Even though it's not quite 11:00, it's lunch time here! And look what the kids are eating.... POPCORN!!!
We started out the morning with chocolate chip jack-o-lantern pancakes, and pancakes with pumpkin sprinkles.
For lunch, each kid had a little fruit, but they are now enjoying the bucket of popcorn (we're thinking of you, Mr. Jack and Parker!).
Once the boys go down for their naps, Elizabeth and I will be making cupcakes to take to Daddy's work.
This evening, dinner will consist of candy, chips, and if we're lucky, hot dogs.
What a great eating day!!

My new name

Just a little bit ago, I popped every balloon in this house. The kids had been fighting over them (even though there were about 7) and I decided to make my life that much easier. As excepted, the big kids cried, and cried. Benjamin, looked at them like they were crazy, and tried to blow the balloon up again. When he found out he couldn't he too started crying.

Ignoring them, I went into the kitchen to try to get some work done. Elizabeth came up to me and asked, "So, are you a take-away-mommy now? Cause that's what you did. You took away our balloons!"

Me and Micah

This picture was taken last night by Heather. Doesn't Micah look happy to be my little boy?

Happy birthday Knox

In celebration of Knox's birth, several of us joined and released balloons. We miss you Knox!
Jon, Rachel, Anne Michal, Lizzy, Emma, Jack and Creed, you have been in our thoughts and prayers!
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
You can see more pictures here.

Oh, so LAZY!

I just finished serving my kids lunch. On the kitchen floor! It all started with a trip to the gym (thanks Beth!). My legs were so tried, and Benjamin just kept wanting to eat, and eat, and eat, that I just sat on the floor in front of the fridge rather than going back and forth. Next thing I knew, I had all three kids on the floor with me, and I was making turkey and ham rolls to give them. Ad some string cheese and voila! Lunch!

At least they ate!

I'm so lazy!

The princess, the knight, and the dragon

Here is a small sampling of the pictures that our friends, the Ackermans, took today of our kids in their Halloween costumes. They look adorable (thanks Grandma!), and we had lots of fun taking the pictures. I'm going to try to get more pictures uploaded to my Facebook page tomorrow. Charles and Laura took almost 300!!

That's what I'm calling the new look.

What do you think? Perfectly pumpkin, or not?

I'm not being difficult, just a little cranky!

The day after

I told you we got a little sun. Watching me put on make up this morning, trying to cover up some of the red, was quite amusing. It really didn't work that well! Even my lips are sun burned! Last night at 11pm, Curtis asked if I was wearing lip stick.
Mr. Raccoon. Curtis is so red, I think he glows in the dark.
Lesson learned, we will wear sun screen at the next game we go to!
